HOW-TO FOR SPRING:

How to Grow an Herb TowerHow To Grow Vegetables and HerbsDelicious, nutritious, and fun to grow. It’s no wonder so many people love to grow vegetables and herbs right in their own gardens. Spring and summer crops include many favorites, including tomatoes, basil, squash, melons, oregano, green beans, and many, many more. While ambitious gardeners often maintain big planting beds, many varieties of vegetables and herbs can also be grown in containers.

Here are the basics, but please speak with a Certified Nursery Professional at your local Navlet’s before you get started. They can help you select the best varieties for your garden and avoid common problems, like planting too early.
4 Simple Steps
Step OneStep 1
Prep the Soil
Assuming you are planting in the ground versus a container, it is critically important to provide your veggies with a happy home. Amend your planting area with generous amounts of NSCP (Navlet’s Soil Conditioner Plus).
Step TwoStep 2
Pick ‘Em
Select varieties appropriate for your growing conditions. A Navlet’s expert can help. If this is your first vegetable garden, go with a limited number of easy-to-grow varieties. Starting with healthy, high quality plants is a must.
Step ThreeStep 3
Plant ‘Em
We can help you determine the optimal time for planting. Don’t think that planting early will guarantee an earlier or bigger harvest; Mother Nature knows best. You may also want to stagger plantings so your harvests are continuous.
Step FourStep 4
Protect ‘Em
As much as you may love fresh vegetables, snails and slugs like ‘em more. Be vigilant from the start in protecting your garden from pests; they can wipe out an entire crop of tender young plants in the first few nights. Navlet’s offers less toxic controls.
