Beat
the Heat… and Deer
If you are looking for a bright beautiful container annual
that can withstand hot sunny locations then Zinnias might be
just what you are looking for. And, if deer are a problem,
Zinnias tend to be deer resistant. Navlet’s carries a
number of different Zinnias including dwarf varieties such
as Peter Pan Zinnias and Dreamland Zinnias. These varieties
work well in containers because they only grow about 18 inches
tall and they have sturdy stems that keep the plants upright.
Plant your Zinnias now and they will bloom until the first
frost. |

Keep
Your Fountain Clean
Algae can create a mess in fountains during the summer months.
Applying a product such as Small Fountain Protector will prevent
many common fountain problems, including the growth of Algae.
Additionally, this product will prevent cloudy water; stop
mineral deposits from forming; keep fountain pumps and water
lines free from organic buildup; and enhance the performance
of all indigenous "good" bacteria naturally
found in fountains. |

Get
Rid of Crabgrass
Today, we use crabgrass as a generic term for many types of
unwanted lawn weeds. A friendly Navlet's Nursery Professional
can analyze your lawn weed samples to determine if you are,
in fact, dealing with Crabgrass. If you are, Bayer Advanced
All In One Weed and Crabgrass Killer can be used to selectively
remove Crabgrass from your lawn. |

Prune
Citrus Trees
August is a good month to prune the dead branches from the
center of your orange, lemon, lime, and grapefruit trees. The
occurrence of dead wood in citrus trees is perfectly normal
and it should be pruned out of the tree twice a year. Pruning
citrus trees in August will allow new growth to mature before
the weather turns cold. |
